The 7th Tradition

AA’s primary purpose is to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers. This message is carried by those who are no longer helpless, thanks to the power of the AA program. The seventh tradition states we are fully self supporting, declining outside contributions. When you donate, the funds go towards mailing big books and 12&12’s to newcomers, two important pieces of literature to help people get and stay sober. The donations are also used to send chips to people who are celebrating anniversaries. Recognizing how far they have come, one day at a time and a physical reminder that this program really works.
